Nine+ years in product design at EA, Lyft, and Instacart. Now founding and scaling Instacart's Tooling Design System.
I started in Buenos Aires with architecture and technical drawing, spent 15 years in graphic design and marketing in LA, then moved into product design. For nine years I've designed enterprise products at EA, Lyft, and Instacart, from a global intranet to a unified workspace to order and fulfillment tools. At Instacart, building the design system became the whole job: I founded the Tooling Design System and scaled it to 144+ components, now used 786K+ times at 90.9% satisfaction.
What keeps me going is making complicated things feel simple and human, whether that's helping a shopper find their groceries faster or helping a team build tools with less friction.
Outside work, I'm tackling a 100-day React/JS challenge, co-host a podcast on mental health and gay dating, and draw as a form of artistic expression. I stay balanced with yoga and dance, and host monthly board game nights, my small, steady way of building community.
AI & Design Engineering
Lately my work lives in the space between design and engineering. Design systems usually exist as two copies, one in Figma and one in code, that drift apart over time. Closing that gap is what I care about most right now: token systems that match the code one to one, with AI doing the slow parts like migration and catching drift, while still leaving room for creative exploration. The future is design and engineering working from one source of truth.
Read my POV on AI and the future of design systemsSomething I vibe-coded for fun, not client work. It spaces color along the golden ratio to build balanced palettes you can preview in light and dark, check for contrast, and copy out as tokens. Free for anyone to use.
Some collaborations and community events I've loved being part of, with creatives I admire. ✨
In February 2021, I shared my experience working with the Claims Tech team and LGBTQ+ ERG at Lyft on the Cells and Pixels podcast. The show, hosted by Koji Pereira, features professionals discussing product design, UX research, and diversity in tech.
